The First Holiday (5th day)

Today was the first Sunday since we came to here. It means today that is the first Holiday! We planed to go to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom yesterday. So it was very busy to prepare this plan. To be honest, I thought that we would not be able to execute this plan. Because we hadn't decided yet how we go to there in this morning yet. But we could go to there in a result. This is thanks to the effort of a few friends.

It is said that Attractions of Six Flags are crazy. Many people say there are thrill in the attractions. You can image easily if you know Fuji-Q Highland. We took to there by a train and bus. When I actually saw the theme park, Impressive was perfect score. 

We enjoyed many attractions, atmosphere and communication with others. In these attractions, there was a very crazy attraction which is water gun battle. We became a whole body soaked... But it is one of the best memory of today.

After we enjoyed the Six Flags, there were some people who were sleeping deeply incliding me while we went back to Davis.

Having arriving at Davis station, I ate Chinese foods with some friends. The store's name is Silver Dragon (銀龍). The price was too cheap, and taste was nice. I recommend you　go here if you want to eat Chinese foods.

Today, we were too tired to stay up late. Tomorrow is President Holiday! I wanna enjoy tomorrow, too.

The 4th day in UCD

Today is Saturday. But we went to school. Why did it? Today, we conducted "Get to Know Party" at Extension center today. It started 14:00, so we gathered at 13:00. Today, we equiped some booths related to Japanese culture. For example, there were booths of koma, taketombo, darumaotosi, hukuwarai, syodo, origami and so on. My responsibles were koma, taketombo and darumaotosi.  I'm a leader of this group. We has prepared long time for this day. I had many anxieties before it started. When many host families came to the party, our anxieties disappeared. We enjoyed playing and talking with many host families simply. Also, there were many foods, snacks and drinks. The taste was good. Through this party, I felt that foreigner has a interest to Japanese culture than we thought. So I wanna tell my host family more Japanese cultures.

By the way, today (Japan time) was birthday of Mizuki Noguchi. We celebrated her with birthday suprise. She became 19 years old. Happy birthday Mizuki!

After the party, we played basketball. Although the time was too short, it was very exciting. I keenly awared that sports was the power of our life! I want to play again.

Today, I communicated with many foreigners in the get to know party. This experience will be a treasure in my life. I decided to cherish like this experience.

Tomorrow is Sunday. We will go to Six Flags! I can't stop my exciting from now on. Good night...

The 3rd day in UCD

Today was the third day in UCD.

As usual the weather was good, I spent a comfortable day.

First, we conducted UCD Scavenger Hunt. This was a group activity. We cleared some missions. The game was scoring format. Our team won the game and got a UCD t-shirt. The design is very good.

And, therefore today was Friday, Ice Cream Social was held. The taste was so good. I was satisfied with it.

In the night, we went to the down town near the Davis. We strolled there and found many interesting shops. We had a dinner with Mr.Syuhei Kimura. We ate the Korean BBQ. Akthough we were waited long time, the taste was good! 

We are planning the "Get to Know Party" tomorrow. We will equip some booths. Why don' you join us?

The 2nd day in UCDavis

Today is the 2nd day of UCDavis life! I got up at nine o' clock. So, I slept for about 12 hours!! It can be said that my body was too tired to get up. hahaha.

I the morning, we got own bike. It is a new mountain bike. The feeling of driving is the best. Fortunately,  my host father said today was the best weather of California! Thanks to the bike, we can go many places not only UCDavis but also around area.

In the noon, we took a English placement test. This is the first time to study since we arrived here.

Agter the test, we took a lunch and walked UCDavis campus. UCDavis is much larger than Ritsumaikan University. We need to move our bike in UCDavis.

In the night, I took a dinner with my host daughter and her boy friend. They are younger than me but they seem to mature than I. Why are they so cool? I want to be like them.

I am a worry about whether I will be able to reach to UCDavis by my bike or not. So I will get up and leave my house earlier!

The First Day in UCDavis!

The time has come finaly! Our UCDavis program has started. Although we had many anxieties, we've been waiting that this day would come. The flight was too long because it took about 9 hours between Japan and San Francisco.

Arriving San Francisco, we took lunch in a Service Area at first. I ate at a burger shop. I was surprised to the size of drink and food, It was very big!!

Next, we went to UCDavis finally. We accepted the explanantion of schedule and rule. The name of the person in charge is Lian. His English is very easy to understand, In addition, he is very handsome and kind. Thanks to his explanation, we came excited of this program.

And the last big event of the day was meeting with our host family. My host father, Jayson came UCDavis to pick up me. The distance between house of my host family and UCDavis is about 2.5 miles. They are very kind to me. So I can spend comfortable living. I gave chopstics the name of each has been carved, folding fan and STARBUCKS ORIGAMI which is limited to STARBUCKS COFFEE Japan as presents. They seemed to be glad. By the way, I think my new room is similar to my Japanese room. So I'm calm down in the new room.

In this a month, I will chalenge to talk many people in English. I won't be afraid of making mistakes. My theme of this program is "Challenge aggressively!"
